Now that you have all had it for a little while now, should the Shoutbox plugin stay or go? I added the option for "keep it, but only show it in the main forum (browsing, but not in threads) and search results (such as 'What's New'). NOTE: Keep in mind, that if you want to disable the shoutbox for just yourself- theres a little arrow in the right top corner of it. Click that and it will roll up.
The ones I'm probably getting made next week, the white part is gonna be cut out. Dunno if I'm gonna use a rectangle, rounded edge, oval-esque, or what yet. Any ideas for others? UPDATE Blue - 4

I have been on other forums that have a selection so you just see the post you have comented or started. You click it and it takes you to just those posts and shows you if there is anything new posted on it. What would we have to do to get something like that.
Well I've been bored and felt like tinkering. Does anyone have some ideas for forum improvements or any changes to make life better?
I dont post many threads on this site and I dont personally feel like going through several pages to see if this has been covered, but I feel it should be a requirement for people to state somewhere what kind of vehicle they have wether its in their signature, or if there were an addition to the site under your avatar or somethin like that. 90% of the time i get on someones profile looking for what kind of car they drive and its nowhere to be found.

Specifically chat rooms. me and Terror Tumor decided to mess with them today, and experiment. I think we are the first ones to really go after it? Why can I only see messages I have sent in my inbox and not any messages that I actually received?
Beagley, Tom and myself have finished Alpha testing as of last night. Now its up to the users to be apart of our Beta testing group!! What does this mean? I'm thinking about setting up an Official 318R Mass Txt type.. thing. Incase something is wrong with the forum, someone is spamming it, or something and you need to get a hold of a moderator.. You can click a simple button and it will inform us. Whenever a Meet and Eat is going on, we can send a mass txt to a "subscribers list" notifying you of the information. Watcha think?

Maybe members can have their own Showoff/Project threads and a direct link could be available on the mini profile to the left of their posts under their avatar along with other info like some of their car details. I know it mentions date joined, posts and location. Perhaps also have year, make and model of their main car/truck/bike or w/e. I know it's not exactly a quick process. But we could have an actual Showoff thread in it's own sub-forum.
How about you make it where only the people that are on that ladder can post in that topic. It will keep chatter down so I dont have to read 5 pages of bs to see what is going on. Call out section can be used for people that want to get on the ladder. .02
how bout a chatbox on the home page index. logged in members can use it and it will show when topics/threads/posts are being posted as they are being posted along with the link to that specific post in a thread. also showing post/view count and Subtopic that it was posted under. I've seen this on other sites and makes the site very lively usually. It's pretty much like a 24/7 chat room always viewable to the members and you can have headlined announcements above or below it.

How about a chatbox. At the top of the forum index that you can only see/use if you're logged in. It could also be used to show like specifically when a user posted in a thread and show all online users. when a user replies or posts in a thread u can click the hyperlink to go to that specfic post. it can be a. Way. To let ppl talk/make fun of each other right there without having to clutter up the forums r even just so you can ask a quick question instead of creating a topic about it.

where i used to live we had an active car community with a forum alot like here, we all decided to help support our local community so we can get more respect from the locals and the law enforcement as well, so we would randomly hold fundraisers like toys for tots, or car washes to donate to charitys, what do you guys think?

im always on 318 on my iphone and i dont have 3G here which sucks! so it takes FOREVER to get to the site and navigate around i looked into the whole creating an app, really dont wanna do that :confused: itd be pretty effin sweet if we had one tho itd make thigs alot easier when im not near my laptop or on the road!

Jeff, I am having issues when typing long posts. I reach a an "end point" and the message body box wants to reset itself back to the top... Does what I am saying make sense? Like I will be typing at the bottom, but then after I type a letter or something it wants to scroll view back to the top of the box... Can this be extended or is this the limit of the host?
